On August 21, at the central stadium in the city of Dospat, the American football team Sofia Bears held an American football demo with full equipment. The demo was part of the sports day organized by the Municipality of Dospat and Mr. Georgi Vishegonov.
The team arrived at the invitation of Mr. Vishegonov, who helped organize the event to promote American sports in Bulgaria, the newly opened water base on the shores of the Dospat Dam, and other opportunities for sports and recreation in this wonderful tourist area.
The Sofia Bears showed the gathered audience what American football is, its rules and demonstrated many spectacular kicks and passes.
After the demonstration, the bears also formed a volleyball team with which they won the prestigious second place in the volleyball tournament held.
Thus, after a wonderful weekend in the Rhodopes, the bears returned to Sofia and continue with the off-season preparation for the new season, which officially begins on September 2.
