Sofia Bears set a new club record for results in Ivo Ikonomov's benefit. One of the doyens in the "bears" team ended his career with a touchdown in the 65:0 defeat of the Bucharest Predators (29:0, 10:0, 13:0, 13:0). The Bulgarians broke their previous record two years ago at the beginning of the last quarter, and in the last second of regular time they also entered the guests' scoring field.
Emergency teams of the "bears" shone even when taking the opening kick of the game, which was returned for a touchdown. Three punts also ended up in the Romanians' endzone, but two of them were called back for fouls.
The Bears' previous scoring record was 54 points in a win against the Bucharest Predators in June 2009. Sunday's 29 points in just the first quarter is also a new best in team history.
