Sofia Bears players - Alexander Kenanov, Simeon Vassilev and Christian Chan took part in the extremely renowned training camp American Bowl 2013 - http://www.camp.americanbowl.org/ held in Trieste, Italy in the period 1-3 August 2013.. Sofia Bears head coach Ivo Ikonomov and assistant coach Anton Doikov took part, but as training coaches.

The long drive to the beautiful Italian city was definitely worth it. The coaching staff included living legends in American football – Joe Montana (Joe Montana – 49-ers NFL – Superbowl XVI, XIX, XXIII, XXIV) Shaun Gayle (Shaun Gayle – Bears – NFL – Superbowl XX) Kris Haynes (Kris Haynes – Bears – NFL) Matt Joyce (Matt Joyce – Cardinals – NFL) Sam Rogers (Sam Rogers – Bills – NFL) Lamont Warren (Colts – NFL) The camp was held over 3 days, during which the players went through various exercises aimed at improving their knowledge, technique, and coordination. During the breaks, everyone had the opportunity to discuss and learn from the professional players who reached the Super Bowl and made millions playing in the NFL. On the third day, a short game was held - attack against a defense, where the Bulgarian players stood out with their good physical and technical preparation. During the camp, in addition to the valuable experience that the players and coaches gained, many new and useful acquaintances with teams from other European countries were made.
